“No Jews, no news. Bigots instead want to boycott a British actress in a non-political play.”
(Maureen Lipman, ‘I refuse to be cancelled’, The Spectator, 3 June 2026.)
How selective of Maureen Lipman, to utter these staged lines, and, as per standard Zionist performance, ‘forget’ any factual ones on the true genocide that her beloved Israel is committing against Palestinians.
No ‘rehearsal’ here of the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice against Israel as it weighs this “plausible” case of genocide. No big ‘stage lines’ from Lipman on the major findings of the UN confirming genocide. No mention of the most eminent body of genocide scholars duly affirming that it’s a genocide. No enunciation on every leading human rights group, without qualification, and in similar deference to the Genocide Convention, calling the horror of Gaza what it is: an actual genocide. No stage lament for all those taken in the long-running colonisation, dispossession, industrial murder and enduring persecution of Palestinians. And, lamentably, no final ‘curtain call’ of humanitarian dedication by Lipman to the thousands of Palestinian children mercilessly slaughtered or orphaned by the regime in this final act of genocide.
Instead, the same derivative script on ‘antisemitism’, the same staged deceit in castigating those fairly objecting to Lipman’s own anti-Palestinian utterances, ugly denigration of Islam, demonisation of Arab societies, and outright genocide denial - as ‘boycotting bigots’.
None of Lipman’s theatrical affectations can disguise her true identity as a Zionist apologist for genocidal Israel. The issue here isn’t her ‘non-political’ play, it’s her playing the contrived part of ‘non-political’ actor. If you take on the real-life role of defending an apartheid, genocidal entity, and seek to cast those who call out that deceit as ‘antisemites’, be prepared for a critical review of those spurious lines.
Dutifully self-cast, Lipman refuses to see beyond her own stage, and staged, victimhood. The suffering of Palestinians, the mass elimination of a people, is summarily dismissed as a non-historical event. All that matters to her is the prospect of being ‘cancelled’. There’s no concern or empathy for the genocidally cancelled of Gaza.
Lipman isn’t some long-board-treading ‘national treasure.’ She’s a too-long-running act of hasbara whitewash, serving to protect a murderous, barbaric and ghoulish regime.
It’s fitting also that Lipman should be venting via the similarly lip-serving, Israel-defending Spectator. Whatever her ‘status’ as artist or ‘celebrity’, she is no mere onlooker.
If “all the world's a stage, and all the men and women are merely players”, it’s incumbent on the same global audience to expose the duplicitous roles that even mere figures like Lipman consistently play in such staged deception.
